    I am actually in the market for a 1.8T.
    I found one on craigslist with a bad timing belt that my friend is willing to rebuild the head for a case of beer and parts.

    I would just have to find the trans to mate it to then.
    And also figure out how to get it in cause iirc those motors are mounted as though the car is RWD well at least in the Jetta they are

    heh, im not sure about a swap, but my friend matt has a 1.8t jetta that he recently had to install a brand new engine, because his timing belt broke and fubared his engine... his car is SOOOO sick tho...

    Well I am glad I really didn't do anything to this car except maint.
    I think its finally on its death bed.

    Radiator fan went, fixed that and now heater core is clogged.

    It served me well, now sitting at a little over 234k on the ODO before I lay her to rest.

    I just need something reliable now, with driving 70+ miles round trip M-F I can't be breaking down, and chasing issues is making my wallet to light and showing neglect towards Tess.

    There will be a new car to replace it, and I will miss this one a little.
