Thread: What's your favorite food?

    What's your favorite food?

I know we all love to eat (definitely shows for some of us ) so tell us your #1 favorite food of all time.

This has to be the a meal you just can't live without and would be saddened if they did remove it from existence! O yeah, gotta explain why you claim that this is your #1 favorite. I'm sure some of ya will have some interesting stories behind it so feel free to describe your happiness!

So with that said I'll start first!

I love to eat! That's an understatement cuz I can virtually eat almost anything. It definitely shows on my belly too. I'll try it once no matter how disgusting it might be*** but in general my stomach can take some of the funk out there that is considered a great meal! The one meal that definitely hits the spot 10 out of 10 for me is lasagna. I'm not sure why lasagna of all meals though cuz you figure an asian guy would want something that had to do with rice right? (i.e. sushi!)

Nope, just lasagna. Funny cuz when I was growing up we "rarely" had lasagna only cuz my parents had no clue on how to cook anything that didn't include rice. I recall one time (the only time) my mom made me lasagna, cuz she knew I loved it, I took a big bite out of it and tasted eggplant and some other funk (just imagine lots of weird veggies!!! - beets and some other weird stuff) Talk about ruinin a great meal! O well... I gotta admit it was funny to experience that but it still hasn't deterred me from saying lasagna is my number one choice!

I used to hate mexican food when I was a kid, but now I love it (as evidenced by my recent mexican food thread). The best I had was in Cancun at a little taco cart where all the locals ate. The second best was in Livermore, CA, a little hole in the wall carniceria where the people barely spoke english.

My wife's favorite food is fruit like watermelons and pineapples because they are super expensive in Japan and she could never get them while growing up.

Oh man this is one of those really tough questions. Kind of like when your significant other asks why you love them and you are to say why without the regular chessy answers.

My favorite food depends on different things. How long since my last meal? What time of year? What time of day (ie. what meal)? Whos is making it? Etc.

To answer the question right out I would say orange chicken with chow mein. Not sure why. It's kind of like comfort food for me. It's hot and greasy and gives you good burps.

I'll eat just about everything and if it's not totally gross I could (and most of the time I do) eat many portions worth at one sitting. Some of my favorites are things that can be eaten anytime of the day, IMO, hot or cold, standing or sitting, etc. These are things like pizza, almost any sandwich, steak, chicken, mexican food and the like. Damn now I'm hungry, good thing it's lunch time.

Toasted peanutbutter sandwich - or the rare occasion toasted fluffer-nutter with shaved milk chocolate bar on it

I got on the peanutbutter kick when I was in college working 2 jobs + full time classes and too poor/not enough time to eat much else. Now it's my breakfast of champions and 2 of them will pretty much carry me through the day till I finish work around 7ish and can get an actual meal . . . speaking of which, it's about time to order my pizza

Asian food. I really like Chinese and Filipino food. It's hard to find a good quick Chinese place around here though. I guess my love for the food came from my 8 years spent in Asia (Philippines). Dried fish with steamed rice is good, as is pork bbq on a stick. Sa Cha Chicken is probably my favorite Chinese dish, but it really depends on who makes it. I love rice, and I grew up eating it at least twice a day. Eggrolls are awesome! I'm not a fan of Panda Express.

Mexican food. Fantastic stuff, especially the more authentic dishes.

Italian. I love lasagna, manicotti, fettuccini (sp?), spaghetti.

Fried chicken with mashed potatoes. Steak. Really any kind of grilled meat.

I also like pies, especially cherry, chocolate, lemon morang, and key lime.

Lance, why did you have to start this thread while I'm on a diet? :P

Bucket of Steamers with Newcastle or Bass on Tap - No Contest.

Have yet to find a restaurant on the west coast that knows what steamers are.
