    John Bull 20090822

this was with with another forum but i had to go since i missed the UY run up there earlyier this month. im gonna post up the video i made in hopes that next time UY goes to big bear....you all get your butts up here and play.

i had never been there before. my impression....the area is beautiful, the camping is world class, the terrain has tons for absolutly every level of wheeling. there is a no mistake why TTORA goes there every year in great numbers.

i took John Bull with a crew lead by the all pro guy. john bull is not as hard as its seems on the web but its has alot you need to pay attention to. there are several rocks that will taste your rear diff if your not looking for them. picking your line was the name of the game. a bad line on the gate keeper can hang up a 40k truck just the same as a 4k one. id say sliders and 32" mandatory. optimal would be rear locked, sliders, and tires >/=33".

and yes i rocked my UY shirt and was the lone 4runner representing in my group lol

Cool video Troy. You represented well. You are absolutely correct about picking your line. Seen so many non drivers take and pic bad lines with awesome rigs and get stuck then watch a nearly stock rig roll right through.

It is a fun little trail. I've done it on 31s, locked, and sliders...but ya, you'll use the sliders in that situation.

Yeah I was really amazed when I just rolled right through the gatekeeper, stopped once or twice to have to bump it up a rock but no problem.

After my first experience out there (w/ 31's, stock heigth) I was kinda scared, But after sustaining no damage the other day, I was wondering why I was so scared..
