    Stock Suspension and 33s (285/75-R16) ...

I've ordered 285/75-R16 Toyo Open Country AT tires for my 2001 Limited.
The tires are going to be at the shop on Friday (tomorrow).
I have Toytec 3" Ultimate lift (coilovers front + OME back) sitting in my basement which I'm planning to put on next week.
My question is - Would I be Ok to mount Toyo on stock Limited rims and stock suspension and drive the truck home approximately 10 mi?

shouldnt be a problem as long as the tires do not contact the upper A-arm. with my stock 6 spoke wheels i could not use them, thats why i have black steelies now. either way the lift will not fix that problem. just be cautious when you turn. the shop might not mount them if they contact any part of the vehicle though.

yea but its going to rub if you hit a bump or turn into a hill driveway. im pretty sure i drove my truck for a week with the stock suspension. your a-arms should be fine with the A/T's

So in theory I can mount them and drive home 10 mi. Then put 3" lift and drive around being good. I was only wondering for first part of driving home and mounting on stock rim, which I think 16x7 or 16x7.5...

its not the size of the rim thats the issue... its the backspacing... i think most yota factory rims have a 4.75 backspacing, which with anything more than a 10.5" wide tire can sometimes rub on the upper A-Arms... as Sean pointed out, the lift will not help with this either... you will either need new rims, or a good set of spacers (the bolt on kind if you must run them at all...)

I've decided to go with aftermarket rims 16x8 with 4.5" backspacing. Would those be fine with clearing the UCA and 285/75s?
