then realized they have a version with a safety switch:


should i have gotten that one?

just use a pin as a safety and you'll be fine. i went w/ the safety latch instead of using a pin. make sure that the latch is mounted correctly as well. you'll want the lever to go just over center to help the latch stay closed as well.

well i just got the latch, it is really good quality! very impressed.
