    Transmission/Differentials / When to change?

    - How often should i have the trasmission fluid drained?

    - Same goes for the front/rear differentials??

Also i have sort of a buzzing sound coming from the underneath. Usually happens right as it reaches 30mph. I have a 2002 auto trans.

60,000 miles for the trans/diff change. Don't forget about the Xfer case too since you use the same oil in your diffs.

As far as the buzzing goes, check the skidplates and also the Xfer case guard and the exhaust pipe covers.

When it comes to buzzing, that is probably some loose metal, as Tanto suggested. Check all skid plates, exhaust heat shields, and connections with the exhaust pipes. Again, Tanto nailed the fluid change intervals too, I do mine WAY more often than 60,000 miles, but thats because if I use my 4Runner every weekend, all year, and wheel it HARD.... it still only gets about 150 miles on it in a year. I change mine cause I figure they are always full of water and mud, plus I am inside my axle at least 3 times a year usually. lol.

I always lived by 30-60k, depends on how you use it.

Been doing mine about every 2 years. I just fit it in when I cannot remember when I did it last and I have a few extra bucks for the fluid.
