I know i am not alone here when i tell you i have a messy garage. actually, it's my parents' messy garage, but thats not important.

we have lived here over 8 years, and the garage has been uninhabitable since day 1. so i set about to clean it up.

here are some "during" shots. it had to get worse to get better.

the real problem is, we have alot of tools. wood working tools take up most of the room. plus, we have alot of 'stuff' that we dont want to part with (although i have filled several large cans full of both trash and recycle, plus several large boxes of hazardous waste to go to the city this weekend). we built the storage system along the wall to provide storage above some of the large tools, and this has helped greatly.

so by no means is it done, but here is the result of several days of sorting stuff into boxes so they can be gone through and further organized at a later date.

and the real reason i cleaned and organized some:

now i can work on my vw indoors!!! and any other car that may need service.
