Because of all the thorny type things around here and the fact that I don't want to be patching flats every ride, I got a tubeless conversion kit for the bike. Once I get it in, it should be pretty much impossible to get a flat from thorns, nails, whatever.

The kit is from Stan's, very highly rated over on MTBR.com: http://www.notubes.com/product_info....products_id/30

Cool bike, it looks like it has a nice component set. RockShox are making a comeback after being second to fox for years. Excavator's are a great tire for the rear, I'd throw a Navegal in the front though.

I'm happy with this shocks given the price point of the bike The first thing to be replaced will be the front brake disc with a larger unit (either 180 or 203mm, haven't decided), followed by the front shock to a unit with lockout. The rear shock will last a bit longer, but eventually be replaced with a higher end unit as well.

i recently looked into the TeoCali for replacing my bike, and it looks like it would be a good ride for most, but that low bottom bracket really killed it for me, we have way too many rock gardens around here..

on a side note, i dont see the point in tubeless tires.. i havent had a flat on my mtb for years.. i just run downhill tubes (slightly thicker rubber) and Tuffy liners between the tire and tube. the only point iv ever seen is for CC riders the weight savings.

I'm not interested in rock gardens, too much work(Let's be honest though, the bottom bracket isn't lower than the crank/sprocket :P Hell, It's higher than some other bikes I've seen!) I was originally looking for an XC bike with about 4" travel front/rear, but when I found this it was just too plush to pass up

When we first moved here my wife got flat literally every time she went out (huge damn goat heads), so I knew I needed something. I thought about heavy tubes and liners, but was worried about a significant weight increase. Tubeless was more expensive for sure- but it's a cool bragging point, lets you run lower tire pressures for traction, and eliminates pinch flats as well. Win-win for me.

Some dirty pictures, just because I can. I've been beating on this bike ever since my shoulder's healed enough, it's great. Blowing through the rocky stuff with this suspension has proved to be addictive!

Nice bike! I've had thoughts of getting back into riding a bike. I need some exercise, and riding bikes is far better than running.

Great pictures too! Off topic, but what camera/lens are you using?
