Nice. Did you take the dork ring off yet?

It's too hot around here to mtb now. Summer is our off season.

It is amazing bike weather here now... hot at midday (85 or so), then cools right down to a nice mid 70s.

Steve, it all depends on which you consider the dork ring, for me there's about 22 unnecessary rings on that ride of his, the 44t being the first of them.

*That bike and 4Runner are too clean anyhow, park them back in the garage ya poser!

Poor Shane. I hope one day you'll be able to turn over a 44t . I love my SS and it's a great trail bike but a shifting bike is where it's at. Most of the mountain bike riding I do now is racing and unless you eat your lunch out of a "white lunch bag" you need gears to keep up and be a contender.

its not posing until you have sliders and dont wheel

I was just correcting the factory's mistake in sending the 4r out in the world on 31's!

rode about 2 miles this morning, had to come to a sort of sudden stop at one point to avoid a deep pothole, and the brakes held nicely! i have a whole slew of trails to check out in the coming weeks

LOL..true, which reminds me I still have a load of rock chips on my sliders to repaint. *One thing I (hate) gotta say about the Yakima and Thule rear mount racks, they don't protect expensive parts from rocks flying off the tires, I dinged my TALAS uppers last week.

Also, wait, if you're impressed with the AVID AD-5's try hydros.

    Re: Got a new mtb!

My recommendation is not to get a big fat cushy one because they end up hitting your butt in the wrong places and hurt more than the skinny ones. It'll just take some time for you to get used to the skinny one, but it'll be for the best in the long run.
