Thread: Parking Lamp Hot Wire?

    Parking Lamp Hot Wire?

I have tried to read over the wire diagram but I can not seem to make head or tails as to which wire is for the parking lamps.

I would like it so when I turn my parking lamps on I can turn my fog lamps on as well.

I have searched here as well, but came to dead ends, or thread that talked about rewiring the parking lamps to work as turn signals so.

Please someone help this nob here.

    Thanks,
    Avy

P.S. At least I know the regular head light wire is Red&Yellow for anyone that needs to know.
And mods, sorry if i posted this in the wrong section.

can you trace the wire into the fuse location for your parking lights?

    I wish I could
However Toyota did a fine job of making the wires look all nice and clean.
All I need to know is which wire it is right off the harness that plugs into the headlight switch.
I know the red/yellow wire is the low beams and thats it.

    yota,

go to www.the12volt.com and you will see a searchable database. fill in your vehicle's info and you will get a list of wire colors and what they do.

hope that helps. and post up your answer when you find it!

According to the link you supplied bob,
My 1997 4Runner Parking Light wire is green,
and is located below the fuse panel.

The question is now, which one?

this is what it says for me, probably the same for you:

Parking Lights Green (+) 13 Pin Connector on Back of Fuse Panel

find the 13 pin connector, and find the wire that is solid green (no stripes!)

    Re: Parking Lamp Hot Wire?

The 98' must be slightly different because mine states nothing about a 13 Pin Connector.

I will check the back of the fuse panel in the cab tomorrow.

At least I know what color to look for now.

    Re: Parking Lamp Hot Wire?

    Well,
Behold the wonder of the 3rd Gens.
I found that 13 Pin connector under the Fuse panel.
And I found the green wire.
So my fogs can come on once the parking lights are on.
And I figured out another issue I have that I will post in a new thread.
Thank You all for the help!
