well the new 4runner is definitely no FJ... didnt the FJC make it through the rubicon with almost no damage? but, it did make it through, and all the way to AZ after... still fairly impressive...

My understanding of KDSS is that it is electronic swaybar disconnect. There are some videos out there describing it on 2010 4Runner, but I don't have the links anymore.

That almost looks the same size as my parents 200series!

April really likes the look of this one, so who knows, maybe trade the taco in, in a year or two.

it seems we are all (or at least almost all) in agreement that toyota did something right with this new 4runner...

yeah id say they did a damn good job this time around. theres some stuff i dont like, but i know they are a corporation, and there are items that must make it into vehicles. i regret the lack of real bumpers (3rd gen and prior) and some of the electronic systems (hill descent control, etc) but overall im very happy with the mechanics and the styling. i will most likely purchase one in the next 3 years!

It's ok, hill descent control and the uphill brake holding thing are useless anyway. Hill descent is still too fast and the hill holding thing is negated by anybody who has two feet.

and thats kind of my point. you pay for all this tech, have to lug it around everywhere, and im sure it has a failure rate, and yet, its useless. i dont think there is a single system in my 4runner that i dont use at least often. this is why i miss alacarte options on vehicles. packages are nice, and probably cheaper in the long run, but i still would rather have alacarte.
