after destroying the stock tank and skid, then making a somewhat decent gas tank skid but the damage already being done, i figure it was time to get serious.

here is where the diff yoke was contacting the tank when flexing

Am I the only one that doesn't rub the drive shaft.
Granted you just added the bump stops I have so that might be it.

    Looks Great man.
I think I am going to get rid of the gas tank there all together and just got the BruceTS route and do the ford tank in the rear.

you need to smash your tank into rocks for it to push into the shaft. i liked the bruce setup but its still going to get hit back there

I guess, I have been trying harder lines so we will see how much more damage I can do.
I know it will get hit back there, but I would love that 3 inches of clearance it is eating up where it is now...

Nice have you tried jacking up on it yet to see if/how much it deflects?

    correct

the unsmashed tank skid is like this |____

a smashed one does this \____

some of the ripples will just keep folding outward until they rub the driveshaft.

i had it happen to my 01, i just hammered it back into place but eventually itd fold right back out again.
