1" body lift affect ride quality?

Over the past year or 2 my goals for my 4Runner have changed... I love being able to take my truck anywhere to camp and bike, but I can't see myself ever doing serious wheeling (at least not anytime soon).

I have had a 1" 4Crawler BL installed pretty much ever since getting the 4Runner, so i was wondering if yall think that it affects the ride quality? I feel like I should just leave it installed since it's already there, but since i really have no NEED for it, if it would make the ride more comfortable to remove it, i may consider it.

What do yall think... does a 1" BL affect the ride quality enough to justify removing it?

negligible effect I would think. Your cog might go up cuz your cabin is higher but honestly speaking I'd say zero change in quality.

adding some kind of suspension component will definitely affect your ride quality in one way or another but not a body lift.

you can always sell it to someone, but by the time you find all your old bolts and the the time to do it...might not be worth it.

Like mentioned above no change is seen, only when you do suspension you will see something.

Why not just keep it on, make it stay one bad mall crawler :-)

I did not notice a change in ride quality after my 1" BL was installed.

About all that happens is perhaps its a somewhat stiffer ride b/c your cushion between the frame and body is now a pc of plastic and not a rubber bushing.

the rubber bushing stays in place.
When you do the body lift you add the spacer to the existing mount.
At least that's how mine worked.

yup the spacer is added to the mix of the plush rubber bushings so technically no change in ride characteristics. the cog goes up but at 1" I don't think anyone is going to notice the change.

What i mean is previously you had: body (bushing) body mount on frame and (bushing). The body rode on the bushings 100% pretty much and the metal of the frame-since its metal flexes. What you have with a bodylift is you add that pc of plastic inbetween it all-causing less flex. Remember, the body is metal, the bushings are rubber, the frame is metal-it all flexes happily all day long, your body lift plasti doesnt flex at all really (very minute specially with a 1 inch).

So yea could be a wee bit stiffer-doubt it is really noticeable tho.
