    Lance,

I had thought about that, but figured Sean was actually using some kinda brake to bend them. Good advice man

nah no brake. score and bend method! a few very large adjustable wrenches work well. lots of welding to do tomorrow. ill take more pictures tomorrow than i did yesterday!

buying from home depot or lowes is a rip (plus they only have small stuff)

ordering from a metal yard is much much cheaper (half to 1/3). look in your yellow pages for one, call around and get quotes for what you want. i usually try to haggle with them. my order came to 225. i asked if they could do it for a straight 200, he punched the keyboard a bit until he got it down to 195. yeah its only 30 bucks, but hey, its 30 bucks you can spend on bolts or whatnot!
I do go to a metal yard and they have anything and everything, it's just a little spendy when I see other peoples projects and the deals they get.

This place is near the other place I go. It's on my list next time I need to go shopping. Thanks for looking because I forgot the entire name to use to search for a phone number. Are you still maybe moving? Hush hush.

Depends on how stupid you want to get.

Or something that makes a little more sense but only after, as Lance says, "going ghetto" which works very well.

I know I used the same method on my skid plate. At first I would only lightly score and try to bend. It didn't move easily hence the driving the subaru up on it to act as a brake.

got a bit of work done today. welded up the brackets as much as i could. put them on the truck, cut the main bar and mocked everything up. tomorrow i will go and tack it together, get the verticals up in place and welded, then start on the cosmetic parts.

    brackets in place:

bumper mocked up. using the left over 2x4 to see how my 2x2" verticals are going to fit. they fit well! (although there will be some modification, stay tuned!):
