Deckplate mod. Do I need the screen

    I'm using this as a guide - http://www.top4runners.com/ja/perf.html

Is it necessary to add the screen to keep bugs/leaves out?

Re: Deckplate mod. Do I need the screen

I didn't put a screen on mine since there's no real easy way for large debris to get sucked into the filter box, and if any small bits happen to make it in there the filter will do it's job and block them.

Re: Deckplate mod. Do I need the screen

did the deckplate this afternoon. super easy. you just need to allow some time. i used a dremel to carve out the hole. not super clean but works. best advise for anyone else is use a shop vac to clean out the plastic.
Got out for a test drive and noticed the difference right away!
