When I finally got around to getting mine straightened, I added some 1.5" angle iron on the bottom lengthwise. The way I see it. I probably still have a 1/2" extra clearance over the 4Runner tanks..
I have a bunch of small angle at home and was thinking about adding it lengthwise. I know this will stiffen it up some but only in one direction. Let's call it the hotdog direction. What about the hamburger direction (sorry just something I remember from a kid. Hamburger folds and hotdog folds)?

I think that if you lay it on a rock or a rock punches up it'll still fold length wise.

Oh and MaK92, you don't need belly and gas tank skids for sand.
Haha I know. The Skid plate will look cool though. I originally only had a stock skid plate on it. but then I saw a budbuilt on craigslist. so i hopped on it.

    Great pics!
God I need to take a road trip out there.

I must admit, I always liked the look of that Generation Grand Cherokee lifted.

Kevin, Before when my life was not going as well as I would have liked I would have considered it.

But now that I have a job, a relationship that has me smiling from cheek to cheek every day, its just not an option at the momment.

I am hoping, and seriously going to try to make it out there for a few weeks this time next year so I can get to Pismo and other trails in my own truck lol!

Oh, Geoff knows how that feels too. He was at the very first pismo jambo.

We've all seen them and have been tossing around ideas. I think I'll go with paddlenbike's idea and wait til I bust it. If the price for them starts going up I'll buy one and throw it in the attic.
