That is crazy, I gasped and swore when I watched it... and yeah, that spotter kinda sucked...

spotter was fine. jim took a bad line on a dangerous decent. looks like he held onto the wheel tightly during the roll.
ya, in some cases i jump on the blame the spotter bandwagon, but in this case, Jim didn't listen to the spotter well. If you watch the video, the spotter started pointing "passenger" several feet before Jim actually turned that way.. I'm not necessarily blaming Jim either, but it's hard to blame the spotter when the line he intended was in fact not the line the driver followed. On that note, I couldn't tell you if Jim had actually turned passenger when the spotter told him if he would have made it down ok, but this crash was not the spotter's fault.
