(Short version: What happens when Steve Jobs steps out for a bit and they hire worthless Dell Techies for Apple)

A Priest, a Rabbi, and a Pastor go into the Mac store with their 2007-2008 MacBoox Pro 15" and buy the Snow Leopard Upgrade after their Leopard download online's acting funny. Then they download it and for a few weeks all is good until they plug in their new Canon C4400 Printer who's software's incompatible with Snow Leopard so they jump online where it says just use image capture. They do that and it's fine for a week and suddenly fails, so they call tech support who tells them to drag and click the icon in applications down to the main screen's toolbar where it just misses and "Poof's" away, including disappearing from the hard-drive altogether. They call another tech support who says they have no support for the computer and they say "But we have 90 days for software purchases and your tech guy screwed this up and won't help and is pissing us off. Fix this!" Luckily they backed things up last week and can pull it to the desktop with a "Copy Item" from the backup that way b/c they can copy/paste it back in where for the past 30 minutes they try to get it running where it keeps saying "Not Compatible", They're forced to dump a bad icon and re-pull the copy out of backup where it locks up and does this for an hour.

Fucking Apple These Days! What are they thinking b/c I am not buying a new laptop for one that's been just fully serviced with a new top, keyboard, screen, and hard drive all under the warranty plan. I thought I was doing something good by upgrading my software, well, fuck me..

Guess you never saw this before then? Actually it was the white guy standing up to the other guy who was harassing people on the bus for fun with his rumored girlfriend filming the whole bit of him trying to act hardcore. He bit off more than he could chew starting crap with Tom who's a big guy who can easily kick ass when he wants to. I knew Tom from a shop I worked at in downtown S.F. and had also seen the other guy before pulling that sort of thing on BART..I just used it as a comedic reference. All of us out here still find the beatdown the guy got funny b/c in the end he got charged w/ aggravated assault and the gal filming got charged with theft. (Watch the vid where she takes his and another passenger's possessions.)

BELLEVUE, Wash. -- An open gas container and a Jerry-rigged system of putting gas into the car while driving is the root cause of the explosion that left two men and a woman burned in Bellevue Wednesday afternoon, Bellevue police said Thursday.

The woman told investigators Thursday they were having trouble keeping their Ford Econoline van running, so they went to a Factoria gas station to get gas. They didn't have a gas can, instead filling an open bucket with two gallons of gas.

Police say the three had removed the engine cowling between the two front seats of the van and used a water bottle to transfer gas from the bucket directly into the carburetor in order to keep the engine running as they drove east on Kamber Road, said police spokeswoman Carla Iafrate.

By now, the van was full of gas fumes, Iafrate said, and the van stalled again just before 145th Place SE. As they tried to restart it, the van exploded.

The van became fully engulfed in flames and began to roll backwards.

"The whole van... was engulfed in red flames," said witness Julie Sarchet. "The people were saying, 'Honey, I love you! Are you OK? Stay calm.' "

Other witnesses told police the woman jumped out the back of the van and fell to the ground on fire, and the van rolled over her leg. The two men jumped out in flames and ran toward the Chevron station on the corner desperate to get their fires out. One man made it into the gas station and tried to douse himself with water.

Wow..check this out, the ADT/ASC Scam is actually now on craigslist? I called ADT to check up the people since I am still rehirable with them and they say they don't have them listed. I called to check the ad out and the address is an apartment in the next town over, not a business address. When I called back to double check the address he gave a slightly similar street name that used to be a Mission Bible Store..I wonder if they went out of business and if this is really legit or not. I might go for the interview just to ask to see the business license, but not before letting my buddy also see about checking them out. LOL..I can picture him going in undercover. :laugh:

I don't think I'll go, I sort of wish I hadn't sent off my resume, but at least there's only limited info on it, no address or anything else. It features a straight six diesel engine on the dyno, which we think is a Cummins, being worked pretty hard at full throttle. Things look and sound good for about 15 seconds and then there is a strange flatline in the RPM curve and BLAMO!

This isn't throw a rod BLAMO, this is suitcase nuke BLAMO, and the best part is that the video is edited with a slow motion replay of the 'splosion so the frame by frame destruction is totally visible. When the whole top of an engine, especially a heavy as pig iron diesel, is thrown like a sorority girl's pillow fight, there's lots of destructive force involved.

Few motors have been killed as hard as this one!

It looks like we're finally getting a new garage door. Luckily I was not doing the thing where I walk out before it's fully open, or shortcut/running under it when leaving. Our little girl was with me so I was making her wait with me by the control switch by the laundryroom when one of the tension springs broke/exploded and the door came slamming down shaking the crap out of the house.

~The springs work under tension when lifted, released when down. It took both my brother-in-law, someone else and I to force it open while I popped the release lever so he could park the car out front for the night. Not sure if it'll be covered by homeowner's or out of pocket.

That's a big looking spring. I had my "UP" spring break last year. It happened after I went to work so I called the neighbor to help my wife get her car out. It turns out he had to call over 2 other neighbors to help him. I didn't know until I got home that the "DOWN" spring was super strong. They used two, 8 foot long 2X4's to lift it enough to get their hands under it.

I have a commercial door that is insulated. The garage door guy said it's a really expensive door and I should do my best to take care of it because I don't want to replace it. He upgraded both my springs under the home warranty. The new springs are huge and should help my motor from working too hard. He also replaced all the hinges and rollers because they had excessive wear. The home warranty doesn't replace wear items but he determined that the door was too heavy for the hinges, rollers and springs as spec'd. I had him look over everything else to see if I could get it covered. I told him to let me know if he found anything iffy because I'd break it just to get it fixed.

DO NOT, try to open the door with a broken spring. My door is lifted with a screw drive like yours. The mechanism that connects the door hardware to the screw drive stripped out when my wife tried to open the door. At first she didn't know why the door didn't open, she just kept pushing the button. That little stripped plastic box cost me $60 and wasn't covered under the warranty because "I" broke it.

FWIW I have had good luck with my home warranty and have renewed it when it comes up. Every year it has paid for itself (renewal costs ~$350). The first year it paid for all new guts in our AC and heat pump. We've had at least one service call a year in the past 3 years.

Mike, I think your description might be more accurate b/c it rolls down just fine, but really fast and is a B*tch to try to open. All I could do was sit there looking stupid b/c there's no way I could lift like that w/ my back like it is right now, so i was more than happy to run the lever instead.

We're calling Overhead Door and Costco for estimates right now because apparently we've already had all this equipment replaced w/i the last 5 years, including my maintaining it during all this rain by treating the rollers, hinges, and guides with lube. It broke while I was out of state and the wife had her brother help get it fixed for us and never told me. I am over this thing, it's solid wood, so for it to have gone through another spring the way it did sucks.

Rarely does an explosion or loud noise faze me, I literally jumped back into the laundry room taking my daughter with me. I found a piece of the coil stuck in the roof's plywood. That could have been me very easily.

Looking at all this it's a bit frustratingly funny now, but things could've failed in a more catastrophic fashion.

Wow a wood door? I'm sure that's heavier than mine. After the fix it guy left I swept the garage because he kind of made a mess. I found little bits of spring so I know what you're talking about. I think the spring broke when I closed it going to work. The wife and kid didn't go out until hours later. I'm glad no one, the car or the bikes got hurt.

I was trying to access Safe Mode on my PC and found out Asus uses F8 to access their boot menu. And since Windows uses F8 to access Safe Mode, pushing F8 at just the right time was a major pain. Asus fail.

I got tired of it and just set up the computer to always start in Safe Mode till I get this virus removed. :confused:

i had an acetylene bottle in my truck, the valve was bumped so slightly and over night the truck filled with the gas. i noticed the smell, and opened the doors to air out the truck. i drove the truck out of the garage to get some more air movement. i went to roll the pass side window down and as soon as i touched the power windows. BAM. with me in the truck. i lost all hearing out of my right ear and got a scratch on the back of my head. all things considering, im alive.

so now ive got the question out to toyota about a 2012 TT. 125 to canada only, 15 in standard. i want a standard...

There is a bunch of different reasons that could have caused that Chris.
The sensors in Toyota's are designed to feel g-force of an impact.
With so much pressure being applied everywhere, it probably sensed something like a roll over or something of the like, and with the pass airbag going off, the initial boom could have pushed enough pressure onto the pass seat to make it seam like someone was sitting in it.

Another option is airbags are pretty much mini guns ready to go off, so one cause could have been the initial ignition of the gas, could have lit the powder in the airbag as well and then boom :-)
